Support

Local-first CSS Inspector is a local browser developer tool for inspecting the visual CSS of a page element selected by the user.

Basic use

  1. Open a normal web page in Chrome.
  2. Click the Local-first CSS Inspector toolbar action.
  3. Hover an accessible element and click to pin it.
  4. Review computed CSS, readable authored/provenance information, comparison output, or generated CSS/Tailwind output.
  5. Press Escape, use Close, or click the toolbar action again to stop the inspector.

Expected browser boundaries

The extension does not bypass browser security boundaries. Cross-origin stylesheets or iframes, closed Shadow Roots, and Chrome-protected pages may expose only partial information or block inspection.

Privacy

Inspection is local to the browser. The extension has no backend, analytics, telemetry, advertising SDK, cloud sync, remote logging, or inspected-page upload.
